The process for preparation of high purity ultrafine TiO2 powder by means of neutralization of hydrolyzed TiCl4 solution with ammonia in the presence of organic dispersant was developed. The effects of the dispersant type and its consumption, concentration of reactants, feeding mode,maturing temperature and time on the properties of TiO2 were investigated.The spheroidal TiO2 powder was prepared whose purity is over 99.5%,particle diameter is less than 1.0μ,The results of 100kg grade test show the physicochemical properties of the ultrafine TiO2 powder and the characteristics of PTC electronic component made from the TiO2 powder approach the technical index of similar products of TDK Co. in Japan.
