In order to improve combustion properties and enhance combusion of pulverized coal (PC), the combustion experiment was carried out after the PC used for PZH Steel blast furnace was mixed with different additives.Based on the feature of blast furnace operation, MnO2, MgCO3, MnCO3, NaCl (table salt), MgCl2, quick lime, CaF2 and converter dust were chosen as additives. The results of the dynamic combusion experiment show that the ignition time of PC was shortened and the burning ratio was increased when PC is mixed with appropriate additives. The combustion-supporting effects of NaCl and quick lime were obvious among several additives. The amount of additive in PC should be determined on the basis of its effect on blast furnace operation.
