Impact toughness of HP295 steel plate were investigated at different finishing temperature and test temperature by means of instrumented impact test. LME of impact fracture were measured. Fractography of instrumented impact were analyzed by SEM. The results show that the temperature of ductile-to-brittle rise, impact toughness and crack propagation absorbed impact energy decrease along with finishing temperature rising. The lower instrumented temperature is,the greater effect of finishing temperature on toughness. There is good relation between impact toughness and LME of fracture with topography of fracture surfaces.
