Based on data from production practices,an investigation was made into the effects of Si +Ti contents in hot metal on ironmaking indices including coke ratio,productivity and S content in pig iron,and vanadium recovery,grade of vanadium slag in vanadium recovery from hot metal and lime consumption in steelmaking. Optimum contents of Si +Ti in hot metal is accordingly proposed.
