This paper has reviewed the documented research work on smelting V-Ti bearing magnetite in the blast furnace. Based on the production and burdon structure trials done at home and abroad,combined with the charateristics of Pangang's current production process and the local mineral resources,a rationalized burden structure resulting in (TiO2)>25% in the slag has been put forward,of the burden,Pangang's high basicity sinter as the essential burden and a part of the vanadium and titanium-bearing lump ore and lean manganese ore as the additives.
