Abstract: The problems existed at primary rolling plants in china are comprehensively analysed,and the necessary measures to increase the billet yield are proposed accordingly. The intrinsic problems found in the long top-fired soaking pit are discussed and the relevant modification schedule is raised herewith. Finally,the direction to renovate the finishing procedure is pointed out to meet the requirement of production.
