Study on Ion Exchange Membrane as a Separator for All-vanadium Redox Flow Battery

摘要: 考查了全钒液流电池用离子交换膜PE-01膜和Nafion膜的物理和电化学性能。研究表明:全氟化Nafion膜的离子交换容量和化学稳定性优于PE-01膜,Nafion膜的导电性好,适合大电流充放电,但正、负极钒溶液更易于相互渗透,水的转移较快,电池的库仑效率较低。PE-01均相膜的离子水迁移量与VO2+扩散性比Nafion膜低。Abstract: The physical and electrochemical properties of ion exchange membrane PE-01 and Nafion were studied in all-vanadium redox flow battery(VRB).It was shown that the ion exchange capacity(IEC) and chemical stability of Nafion membrane was better than that of PE-01 membrane.In addition,Nafion membrane with high conductivity was suitable for high charge-discharge current,but it was easier for vanadium solution to permeate through the Nafion membrane than the PE-01 membrane,leading to quicker water transport and relatively lower coulombic efficiency.Then PE-01 membrane has fewer water transport volume and lower VO2+ diffusibility than Nafion membrane.
