Abstract: This paper deals with a new method to make vanadium carbide using the compacted mixture of APV and carbon powder which is sintered at the given temperature and under argon atmosphere. The influence of the quality of APV and carbon powder, size and proportioning ratio of the carbon powder, sintering temperature, flow rate of Ar. and time of constant tempermture on the quality of vanadium carbide was studied. Qualified vanadium carbide was made in the lab.
